Run of "Sevens"

Today is our first wedding anniversary! After dating nearly 8 years. My Cowboy finally decided I was a keeper? I know, there is alot of us that got married on 07-07-07! We considered getting married on a different day. However, the reason we ended up getting married on this date, We had been together on this particular year, month and day... 7 years, 7 months and 7 days! As well as together, (our combined family) we make 7 ! Anyone who would fold on that hand is crazy!!
We married in our orchard, with only our immediate family, and a close friend and her husband. I had no line, he had no best man, we wanted to keep it simple. It was just that. The weather was gorgeous, a light breeze, and clear sky. It was the perfect day.
That is except for one thing! Ever since the day my fella asked me to marry him, I was trying to figure out how I could get out of walking "down the aisle!" Lawza Daisy!! I hate, hate, hate, to be center of attention! No matter what day it is! Tradition can fly out the window! So now it is the day of and I want to hide! What am I going to do??

To make matters worse, I ordered some strappy wedge sandals to go with my very plain summery, dress. They were just so darn perfect, I didn't pay any attention to how tall they were! Big mistake HUGE! they had 4 inch heel! Now I can walk in heels no problem! However, not in an orchard! The grass is not leveled like your lawn! It has holes and bumps! Yikes! Could my stomach get any tighter!
People are showing up, and wondering why I am walking around! Trent is in the same room! Ok people here's the thing, I am getting married to someone I have "lived" with for the last 6 years? We are getting married in our back yard! And I am wearing a short, spaghetti strapped, light pink, baby doll dress! HELLO? I don't have something borrowed, nothing blue, old, new, yada ! yada! Again tradition the window is open!

Not that I disagree with it, I love when people get married in a church, or get all dressed up! Just not for me. Simple that's what I wanted.

So here I am walking around with my soon to be husband, greeting our confused guests, wanting to run out the front door! I never saw the Julia Roberts movie... I can't think of the name? Where the bride keeps running away? I could totally relate though! The preacher arrived and spoke with my fella and I. We signed the marriage certificate, meanwhile my guts are gonna come out! I see Cowboy pull the preacher aside, they both laugh and look over at me? What! I am going to pass out and you are laughing at me? That's it I am outta here! Then my fella comes over and says "I told him you didn't want to walk in front of anyone, he said we could go out now. In a few mins he will get everyones attention and they will come out." As I stood there about to burst, I knew I was so lucky to have found this man, he may not always do the right things, or say the right words, but he loves me! Never a day goes by in 7 years 7 months and 7 days he has not shown this to me.

As we walked out holding hands, I was so relieved,( that I didn't have to walk down the aisle), knowing I had the most kind, and loving Cowboy.

Note to self, make you find out how "tall" your shoes are, and how short the dress is...oops! It not too short, is it? ... It's the shoes they just make my legs look... longer?

Look at his face! That's an honest, expression! He is happy! I am thankful everyday for this man. I cannot imagine my life without him, what did I do before he came into my life?

There ! There it is again! You can't fake that!

He loves me, he love me not, He LOVES me! That's what I thought!!

Through sickness, and health, roping, fishing tournaments, nights out with the boys, late night softball games, 10 hour golf games, weekend rides with the "Posse " Weekends at the ranch... oh my what did I just sign up for?

Oh all right, I do!

But don't think I won't put you in a arm bar and make you tap out mister!!

"The End"

"We may not always be happy, but we are always in love."

Hey! Thanks for stopping by! I always love meeting new friends!
Your wedding pictures are just gorgeous, you sure are one beautiful bride! I love the simplicity of it, just perfect.

These 'cottages' are summer weekend homes. They are usually vacant all week and the people travel from Massachusetts or New York for the weekend. Not too many people around here that could afford something like that. Give me my little camp any day of the week. :o)

Have a great week and stop by anytime!!

Wow! First time visitor to your blog by way of Pony Girl.

You make a gorgeous couple and your cowboy looks very much in love. I love the daisy bouquet. Very pretty and delicate.

How did you get the visitor counter on your side bar....? I'm pretty low-tech when it comes to computers, et al.

No matter, simple as it was, it was beautiful. And what great scenery to grace your pics with you and him.
